First, high-quality polyacrylonitrile (PAN) based carbon fiber filaments are carefully selected. These filaments are then precisely arranged in a single direction on a specialized carrier or forming device to ensure perfect alignment without any significant deviations or entanglements. Next, a suitable epoxy resin, known for its excellent adhesive and mechanical properties, is prepared and evenly applied to the unidirectionally arranged carbon fibers through a controlled dip-coating or injection process to ensure complete impregnation of the fibers. Subsequently, the resin-impregnated carbon fiber assembly is transferred to an autoclave where it is subjected to elevated temperature (around 120 - 180°C) and pressure (usually several atmospheres) for a specific curing time (ranging from a few hours depending on the thickness and resin type) to solidify the resin and form a cohesive composite structure. Finally, after the curing process is complete, the Carbon Fiber UD fabric is carefully removed from the autoclave, trimmed to the required dimensions, and undergoes a series of quality control tests including inspection of fiber alignment, resin distribution, and mechanical property evaluation to ensure its suitability for various applications such as in aerospace components, high-performance automotive parts, and premium sports equipment. | The construction of carbon fiber fabric is relatively simple and does not require large construction equipment and complex construction processes.
